Resources
Here are some rehabs, hospitals and support groups that I had good experiences with.
Discover Recovery
My daughter had two great stays here. They have wonderful staff and a beautiful facility on the Washington coast where the residents can enjoy nature and beach walks while receiving substance abuse and mental health treatment.

The beautiful people below share their journeys with the world and inspire me every day. Be sure to check them out on their social media channels:
Nar-Anon
I don't know how I ever would have managed through my daughter's illness without my weekly Nar-Anon meetings. They allowed me to fully understand her disease, learn what was in my control (my own behavior) and accept what was out of my control (her behavior). The support and friendship of others going through the same thing is priceless. Try joining a meeting to get a feel for the group. If it doesn't feel right, just join another (in-person or virtual) until you find a good fit. Each group follows the same format, but has a different vibe.
Rainier Springs
Sometimes your loved ones can't go directly to a rehab but need a stay in a behavioral health hospital to stabilize first. While these types of hospitals generally aren't great, Rainier Springs did a good job stabilizing my daughter so that she could transfer successfully to her in-patient rehab facility
The Compassionate Friends
When my daughter passed away, it was overwhelming. While my family and friends offered as much comfort as they could, no one understands the devastating loss of a child like another parent that has gone through the same thing. Attending monthly meetings at my local chapter really helped me work through my grief.
No One Cares About Crazy People Documentary
This documentary shares firsthand experiences of families trying to navigate our broken systems while caring for loved ones with severe mental illness. While it may be difficult to watch, it highlights efforts currently underway to provide humane care and services for our children and loved ones who are falling through the cracks.
